We are still excited about our new location. Our first education event at our new location
last month went very well. Biggest attendance ever and we actually had room to spread
out. If you ever attended classes at our old location, you know well that that was needed.
We are all settled in and back to quilting every day. The class schedule for the year is
still under development, but below is the class offering for October, November and
December.

We still have some demos for sale. See the descriptions below. These are great prices
for great machines.

We're ready and eager to work on your holiday quilts. Try to get those holiday gifts in
soon to make sure we can meet your deadline for gift giving.

If you haven't been yet, pleases stop by and see us.

October 2017 –

Color Theory with Mary Ann Duluk -

Thursday, Oct. 26
9:00 – 3:00
Class price $40.00
Kit price: $15.00

You will learn what the color wheel is and how to use it in relation to quilting. We will
learn the basics of paper piecing and then use this knowledge to make a 23 ½ “ square
wall hanging depicting the color wheel using the kit provided by the instructor and your
own background fabric.
See the picture of the completed color wheel above.
Supply List:
Rotary cutter mat and ruler
Fabric and paper scissors
pins
Sewing machine with quarter inch foot
paper and pen for notes
neutral sewing machine thread
1 1/2 yards of white or white fabric for background and binding
30" square of fabric for backing.
Remember the main focus will be the color wheel and the background should read like
a white or light gray so it does not compete with the wheel. Please bring one or two
pieces of a printed fabric. These will be used to determine color paterns and
combinations as related to the color wheel and will not be cut into pieces.

Included in the kit:

Fabric kit of colored fabrics,
Pattern and
Printed notes on color theory
Basic paper piecing instructions

Folded Log Cabin Table Runner with Betsy Arcari
Thursday - November 9
10:00 2:00
Class price $40.00
Kit price: $5.00

I found this pattern in an Australian quilting magazine years ago. The pattern is for a
whole quilt. I reduced it to a table runner. With a foundation piece of fabric and the many
folds in the log cabins just right for a substantial table runner.  This uses scraps of
coordinated fabric
Supply List: (You bring)

Rotary cutter mat and ruler
Pins
6" and/or 12"ruler
Sewing machine with quarter inch foot
Neutral sewing machine thread

Each block requires the following fabric:
(1) 4 1/2 square - This is the center of each block. Consider an accent color that defines
your whole piece. So that is (6) 4 1/2" pieces
(6) 2 1/2" WOF of coordinating or contrasting colors or prints.
So that is (36) 2 1/2" WOF pieces. They don't all have to be different. Fabrics can be
repeated in different blocks. You will have a dotted and a stripped piece(s) to add where
you think is best.

1/2 yard for sashing. We won't get to this in class.
Back "ing and battig - We won't get to this in class.

Kit includes:
(6) 11" x 11 "mulslin for block foundation
(1) 2 1/2 WOF Black and white dotted fabric for accent
(1) 2 1/2 WOF black and white striped fabric for accent

See the picture at the bottom of the newsletter. The picture looks a little crooked. Yours
won't be crooked. :)
