With education by Beverly Burton, HQ Educator, and accommodations by PB&J Quilt Camp, S&B's first longarm retreat was a total success. We had 6 campers, 2 per Avante machine. When not at the Avante, quilters worked on a variety of individual projects.
Beverly directed the quilters in a thread painting project. Most completed the project before going home on Sunday afternoon.
Meal times were a laugh fest as quilters got to know each other. Beverly got everyone telling their most embarrassing moments. Wow. We've all been there and back. As one veteran quilt campers says, "What happens at quilt camp, stays at quilt camp."
We're loosely planning a second retreat for late spring for those who do not have long arms, but would like to spend a weekend learning and quilting to see if long arm quilting is for them. Let us know if you would be interested.
See the pictures under the event tab above.

We Will Help You Get It Done
Whether you need your top turned into a quilt or you are ready to make the leap into long arm quilting, “We Will Help You Get It Done.” We offer long arm quilting services in addition to offering HandQuilter Long Arm machines with all the accessories – rulers, groovy boards, and the ProStitcher for computerized quilting.
As HandiQuilter representatives we have the 18” Avante both with and without the ProStitcher, The 24" Fusion with the ProStitcher as well as the 16” Sweet Sixteen, a sit down machine for those who have perfected their quilting skills using the “push and smush” method on their smaller sewing machine. The Sweet Sixteen gives the quilter all the space needed to quilt while moving the quilt beneath the needle.
We have SewBatik wide back batiks available for beautiful quilt backs.
We’d love to have you stop by to talk quilting with us. Sheryl and Betsy ( S&B)
